State Awards to Best Handloom Weavers & Best Craftpersons
The State Awards recognise outstanding handloom weavers and craftpersons of Arunachal Pradesh
for their contribution to preserving traditional crafts and keeping the state’s heritage alive.
Eligibility
- Must be a Scheduled Tribe (ST) resident of Arunachal Pradesh
- Must be 18 years or above
- Must be a practising weaver or craftsperson with 1–2 years of experience
- Must submit application form and three products within the notified timeline
Pension for Awardees
- Awardees aged 60+ are eligible for an annual pension
- ₹8,000 per year credited directly to bank account
- Submission of life certificate may be required
- Requires a separate pension application form

Selection Process
District Level
- Applications invited via official advertisement in October
- District Selection Committee chaired by Deputy Commissioner evaluates entries
- Best entries nominated & forwarded to Directorate
State Level
- Final selection by State-level Selection Board
- Winners announced in February
- Awards presented on 7th August (National Handloom Day)
